Warning - traumatizing encounters of the bin lorry lay ahead. Every Thursday, our local, not-friendly bin lorry comes around to collect the bins. I walk to school. And to put it kindly, this bin lorry is the enemy of my life. Here's why. So I have to walk down this tiny close that leads to our woods. There are a few fancy houses downs there. Now, let me just say, I have nothing against people that work with the bins. But I do have an issue with these guys. Because they cant be bothered to walk about five steps to the end of the close, they insist on reversing the huge, fat bin lorry that smells like mouldy yoghurt down the small, narrow close. And they ain't got time for young whippersnappers like me, who are just walking down the close merrily when they hear the dreaded sound. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. The flipping bin lorry reversing down the close. You're half way to the road at the end when it just comes speeding backwards down the close. You run back to the alleyway the leads out to the close when it stops. Turns off. And then income the bin men. I smile at them because they look grumpy and they look back at me like I'm some sort of poo on the pavement, so I look back at them like that. I realize that there's a tiny bit of grass between the bin lorry and the houses, just big enough to slip through. So there I go. It's like dog poo infested ripme. I'm getting claustrophobic. And then, just to make it worse, the engine starts up again. It starts moving. You run. Holy moly, you run so fast no one can see you. And that, my friends, is the bin lorry encounters. Just remember, if I disappear one Thursday, expect the worse. Based on a real story. Rip me. Don't ask I was bored ok ;-;
I totally know what you mean. They stop at the top end and the bottom end of my road and it only has 12 houses...
And the women who glare at you whilst walking to school and I'm like *pulls skirt lower down* HAPPY NOW?
it a good thing I don't have to go through this but I do have to be careful when walking the dog in the morning because one time the machine that tips the bin almost tipped rubbish all over me and boy was the dog scared because it got out of it's collar and ran to the end of the road where there's a bend to the right, and he just stood there staring back at me
come to think of it I think the dog actually got scared of another dog nearby but tbh I reckon it was a mixture of both and it just was all too much for the little corgi
