i heard that the shooter didn't buy an automatic guns, those are already banned in the USA. But he shot an automatic gun, that's how he killed so many ppl. He turned a shot gun into automatic. Its so strange that normally he was a nice guy who cared about ppl , and then he suddenly turned around and did this. BTW How did he be able to smuggle all those guns>

Technically some people are able to legally buy full-auto weapons. They just must pass the required background checks and answer a ton of questions correctly.

He bought semi-automatic riffles and converted the using bump stocks to increase the ease in which to fire rapidly. So although they were not full-auto, they are pretty much similar in speed, and even legal. The clips he used held about 100 rounds, which is quite a lot.

Over a few days time, he transported them in to the hotel room using multiple suitcases.

Last I saw, through the investigation, they have identified that he bought all the guns legally over the last year. So I guess they found his records of the purchases?

Yeah... how can someone do something like that? Sad... very sad indeed.

The gun laws in America is not able to have full-auto guns his guns were all modified to be fully automatic either by a illegal gun store or he has modded them himself.
Even though 500 was injured it's lucky 59 was only dead.

So true, when pertaining to the 531 mass shootings in the last 477 days, no degree of gun control will undo the harm or bring anyone back to life again and can be considered irrelevant when discussing past tragedies.

But going forward, it will help. Those who are able to buy regular firearms will not be turned away. Those who are a risk to the public in general will not be able to buy from legal channels "anymore". So gun violence will drop. The states that have enacted tighter control over gun control have proven this time and again. Its the NRA, a private organization, which is spending millions upon millions upon propaganda to try and alter the facts.

Did you also know that Las Vegas has a number of gun ranges that let you shoot full autos? They are legally registered with those establishments, and if you have the money, you can fire them in a controlled environment.

It is totally legal and possible for someone to own full auto military gun in the US. Its difficult as all heck to pass the background checks and its very expensive. But its possible. The registration for new full auto machine guns was closed in 1986. So if someone buys one today, they cannot buy a model that is newer than 1986 and it has to have been previously registered. Those are a class 3 weapons, along with suppressors and short barreled shotguns and rifles.

Did you know the last time a class 3 weapon was used in a crime was in 1934?

Stop and think about that. Yeah, gun control does work.

bottom line is if ppl wanna kill a ton of other ppl nothing is going to stop them? guns aren't the problem. if someone gets stabbed with a knife do we blame the knife? if someone runs over a bunch of people do we blame the car? If so ban all of those lmao

Show me a stabbing where a single person killed 59 people and wounded 527 people with a knife.

Or show me where someone in a car killed 59 people and wounded 527 people.

I'm not saying the fault is with the guns. I never said that. Gun control is not aimed at the guns, is it? After gun controls are put in to place anyone who passes the background checks can still buy any kind of gun or any kind of attachment or accessory they want. Gun control is not about the guns.

Gun control is aimed at the people who are using the guns. It prevents those who are visibly at risk of hurting others from getting their hands on weapons.

Show me a gun that has committed a premeditated crime on its own. It hasn't happened... ever. Its the people using them.

So yeah, gun control is "banning" the people who are at risk of hurting others from possessing the weapons that anyone "else" can have access to.

And as it has been proven time, and time again, gun control works and those who can own guns have NO problems buying them.

So yeah I agree with you that if someone wants to kill a lot of people they may "try". But then again they may not try if it is not so easy, so why give them the tools that can make it so easy for them?

@Perception I totally agree with you... @Kyaaaal why?

Why do you think it's sarcastic? Is it because American gun law is totally retarded? No... I think not. I ain't no suicidal kid who gonna shoot up my school because I can't take getting called some pathetic names from people I won't ever see again after I leave school.

As much as I may agree or disagree with the statements made, we try our best to keep these forums free of political issues and/ religion for obvious reasons.

      This shooting was horrible.
I’m so sorry for everyone who has been personally affected by this. I hope in the future something changes to stop things like this from happening.
      Closing this.
