Hello, I am here to bring up a new way to ban hackers. So, we all know hackers are a pain and so they come on alts when they get banned. Most have a vpn but you should IP ban when banning hackers. This is a good way to keep hackers banned. But, hackers have a vpn to ban evade that ban so then the hackers should then get blacklisted on lobby. Another issue is, players come on alts to hack and kill diamonds so that they can get more gear, and the gear they get on the alts, they give to the main accounts so if we IP ban some hackers, it might ban the main account as well because they probably won't have an active VPN they are just gear farming, they won't realize the IP ban but then when they do it gets rid of the accounts. Thanks for reading this suggestion!
I'm going with neutral because. If you Tempban the IP for 30 days. The VPN gives a new IP to connect with. The only way of fixing is by blocking VPN's locations. The VPN's have different places to connect through. So say if people connect with New York and Washington the most if you block those 2 countries from connecting to mineverse it makes it so it isn't possible to connect with New York and Washington anyonemore. Yes it is still possible to log on with other locations. and the blacklist from the lobby you can still evade with a VPN.
This would be a command that only higher positioned staff would have, and it would be terribly annoying for them to come on every day and ip ban every single hacker a Moderator finds. IP bans should only be put into place for obvious repeat offenders.
This is 2017, 90% of people can change their ip's in minutes. Also this wouldn't work for mv, since everyone cheats. We already have a mass loss of players, lets not hit the player count down to 50 shall we.
An IP ban wouldn't really do much other than hurt the few that don't have a VPN and the people who have siblings
No support, for those who have siblings who also play on Mineverse (me), this is bad. This'll ban another player that is probably innocent.
