It happend to a lot of people. And we want to make a change to it.

If you got visual prove that u gave any stuff/money to the scammer. The staff could spawn it back for the victims and ban the scammer. Incase it is money that the scammer took. The staff could take it from the scammers bal and transfer it to your ban.

The scammer will not learn his lesson if he is tempbanned. He will probably join back when his tempban is over and still have the money. He will take advantage of this.

      JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED!

Neutral, only if the amount of money that was scammed was cleared from the scammer. If not players can try this with friends for a money boost.

This has literally been suggested a million times.

So, for the 1,000,001st time, this wouldn't work as you could have two people working together who agree to "scam" one another, and then when the items have been "refunded", the two pool the earnings.

Sadly the system we have is the system that will stay in place.

And justice is served, with a month-long ban.

      Edit:
Just noticed one of your recent reports, you got your money back? This was a good way to handle returning your items, as if an administrator can remove the items from the scammer/potential friend, and then refund them - that's a different story. However, this spawns another issue: moderators/higher-moderators being given access to economy commands... Unlikely.

it makes sense. if you get scammed you should get it back. support.

as for this, i don't understand how anyone would get a money boost. if player 1 scammed player 2 for $100 in game, then the moderator would take the $100 from player 1 and give it back to player 2. there isn't any duping of money, its simply just $100 going from one account to another.

This would only work if we had a player with admin-like permissions who was also very careful about how they dealt with these cases.

Just like @hannah said the money will be transferred from the scammers account back to the victim. So there can't be duping. Incase the scammer transferred his money to an alt that's another story.

I agree with the fact that you need proof, and valid proof at that, such as a recording.

It's just dodgy. It'll introduce a whole array of exploits...
      1. The scammer stores the money on his alt
        1. How many levels of logging are we going to need to traceback the stolen money?
      2. The scammer spends the money or gives it to another genuine player
        1. So now, the person with elevated permissions has to explain to a genuine player why the money is being removed from them?
        2. ...Ecosystem damaged...
      3. As for administrative privileges, that requires a whole rethink of trust, "give it to head-mods", well - then either the head-mod needs access to the server's logs or something needs to be developed to allow the level of traceback in point 1 and also not able to be abused

As much as I would love this to happen, it just won't. If I'm correct Crew is the only person right now who can do this sort of thing and we all know that he has much more serious things to handle.

Yea the spending part kind of makes this impossible to implement, you don't just take money from someone who sells an item to a scammer using scammed money.

However if the only problem was storing on alts i would support, but otherwise no support.
